My Favorite FriendBy: Fink Holloway November 25, 1985 You always understand. When life is hard and I'm disturbed You're there to hold my hand. My other friends that I love so Are special, and so dear! But you're the only friend I have That always will live near. Sometimes I try to call a friend And she will not be there. Sometimes I write a letter To show I really care. But, Jesus, you're my favorite friend. You're not hard to reach. You always have time to listen. You have time to teach. Soon I must move to a new place, And as I remember each friends face I lay in bed and weep and grieve Over the friends that I will leave. But, Jesus, you're my favorite friend. You're always by my side. I never have to leave you, Lord, Your Spirit does abide. You're always there. You always care. I love you, oh, so much! When I pick up your Holy Word I can feel your touch. When I have to leave my friends Help me to not despair, But just get a little closer To the One who's always there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "My Favorite Friend" Copyright 1985: Shirley Finkenbinder Holloway Individuals who wish to share any of these poems or ministry may send them to friends.
